在車裡，傑克說他要的是公道，阿隆佐卻只認 street justice（街頭公道）。他丟擲自己那套道理：要保護羊群，就得抓住狼，而且 it takes a wolf to catch a wolf（只有狼才能抓到狼）。想學老警察怎麼用英語講道理、怎麼壓人，這段金句最多。

行動之後，傑克和阿隆佐在車裡吵了起來。傑克堅持要抓人、要公道，阿隆佐卻看不上他那套，說垃圾就該交給收垃圾的，他們是職業釣手，只 go after the big fish（釣大魚）。他講出自己那套街頭哲學：好人總是先死，挨流彈的也是他們，所以要保護羊群就得抓住狼，而且 it takes a wolf to catch a wolf（只有狼才能抓到狼）。吵到後來，阿隆佐還拿履歷壓人，說 My record speaks for itself（我的履歷自己會說話）。想學用英語講道理、反駁和抬槓，這幾句都很地道。

一句半是肯定半是套話，把越界的事輕輕抹白。
You did what you had to do.
替人開脫或安慰時用；被追究責任時別拿來當擋箭牌。

what you 連讀，had to 弱讀成 had-ta。
You did what you had to do out there, so don't blame yourself. 場上你已經做了該做的，別自責。

把街頭最冷的規律說成一句家常，反問一收，無奈和憤怒都在裡頭。

下一章 · 09doesn't fly行不通這場戲：逼毒販供出上家字面是「只有狼才能抓到狼」，引申為「以惡制惡、同類才能制服同類」。劇裡阿隆佐用它給自己那套越線辦案找理由。
go after the big fish，也可以說 a big fish，指重要目標。劇裡阿隆佐說 We go after the big fish，就是「我們只抓大魚」，看不上小角色。
speaks for itself。劇裡 My record speaks for itself 就是「我的履歷自己會說話」，用來堵別人的嘴，意思是成績擺在那兒不用多說。
stray bullets。劇裡 They the ones catch the stray bullets 就是「挨流彈的就是他們」，指無辜的人也會被殃及。
指「橫衝直撞、快打快衝」，不講究章法。劇裡阿隆佐諷刺傑克想 run and gun，說他那套只適合待在巡警隊。
