turn into。臺詞裡說 you're going to turn into one of these dim little ladies，就是「你也要變成那種悶小姐了」。turn into 強調變成另一種人或樣子。
a lift。臺詞裡問 Like a lift, Commander? 就是「指揮官，要捎您一段嗎」。give somebody a lift 就是開車帶某人一程，英式口語很常用。
an attack。臺詞裡說 Grandfather almost had an attack，就是「外公差點舊病發作」。have an attack 指心臟病等舊疾突然發作。
字面是「活得很好」，常帶點調侃：某件事你以為會擊垮某人，結果他照樣過得好好的。臺詞裡就用來反駁「外公離不開你母親」的說法。
meek 是溫順、乖乖聽話。臺詞裡說 How am I ever going to feel meek enough for church，意思是「我要怎麼才能溫順得夠格進教堂」，是斯特拉自嘲剛約會完太興奮。
