字面是「石膏聖像」，指被人供起來、裝得毫無缺點的「假聖人」。說 someone is a plaster saint，就是諷刺他裝聖潔。
意思是「就好像、彷彿」，後面常接虛擬語氣。比如 I'm being treated as though I were insane（他們把我當瘋子一樣對待）。
keep 加過去分詞表示「一直保持某種狀態」，kept locked 就是「一直鎖著」。My door's kept locked 等於「我的房門一直鎖著」。
in time。表示「到時候、遲早」，比如 You will in time（到時候會讓你見的）。注意它和 on time（準時）不是一回事。
