正確說法是 ultimatum。臺詞裡莉齊卻說成了 ultimato，還特意用重音強調，這個錯詞恰好寫出她沒文化又要強的性格。
a place of one's own。臺詞裡說 She has a big, fine place of her own now，就是「她現在有了一處又大又氣派、屬於自己的地方」。of one's own 強調是自己擁有的。
blasted 是英式口語裡的「該死的、惱人的」，語氣比 damn 輕。臺詞裡裡克說 the facts about this blasted haunting，就是「這該死的鬧鬼的事」，帶點不耐煩。
gold mine，字面是金礦，引申為能提供大量有用東西的來源。臺詞裡裡克誇莉齊 Lizzie Flynn, you're a gold mine，就是說她訊息特別多。
