阿拉丁把神燈擦亮，一個巨大的藍色燈神騰空出現，開口先擺出莊嚴架勢，唸完誓言就露了本性，開始和這個什麼都覺得稀奇的小子鬥嘴。他忍不住提醒：燈神、願望、神燈，這些難道都不 ring a bell（聽著耳熟）？接著用一首熱鬧的歌把許願的 how it works（規則怎麼運作）講了個遍，也立下規矩：不能許願要更多願望，不能讓誰愛上誰，也不能讓死者復活。想學用英語打趣、給人講清規則，這段全是現成說法。

So, here's the basics. Step one, rub the lamp. Step two, say what you want. Step three... there is no step three. See, it's that easy. You get three wishes... they must begin with rubbing the lamp and saying, "I wish." Got it? -I think so. -Couple other rules. You can't wish for more wishes. Three is enough. Now, I can't make anybody love anybody or bring anybody back from the dead. Feel free to interrupt me anytime you don't understand. I'm kidding, don't ever interrupt me, no matter what. Now, I usually don't have to go through all of this... because by the time the guy gets to me, he pretty much knows what he wants... and it generally has to do with tons of money and power!

下一章 · 09the cherry on top錦上添花的那一點這場戲：向燈神許願變王子意思是「聽著耳熟、有點印象」，多用於疑問句。燈神問對方燈神、願望、神燈這些都不 ring a bell 嗎，就是「這些你都沒聽過？」
stand by。可以說 stand by my oath（信守我的誓言），也可以說 stand by a friend（支援朋友）。
意思是「它是怎麼運作的、規則是什麼」。想讓人把一套流程講清楚，直接問 how does it work? 就行。
there is a difference，強調兩者不是一回事。燈神糾正別人把自己叫成巨人，就說 I am a genie. There is a difference。
in luck。you're in luck 就是「你走運了」，別人正需要幫忙時用很合適。
