陪審室裡，十二個陌生人剛聊完棒球，就被喊去投第一次票：認為有罪的舉手，結果十一比一，只有一個人沒舉。It's not easy to raise my hand and send a boy off to die（舉手把一個孩子送去死可沒那麼容易），還說 We're talking about somebody's life here（咱們談的是一條人命）。想表達「人命關天、不能草率」，這兩句最有力。

下一章 · 03burden of proof舉證責任這場戲：陪審團圍桌輪流發言意思是「就這麼一下子、說時遲那時快」，形容事情發生得又快又突然。臺詞裡形容兒子殺父親只用一下，就用了 just like that。
可以說 Supposing we're wrong. supposing 引導一個假設，等於 what if。投出人命關天的票之前，用這句話提醒大家別草率。
字面是「把某人踢來踢去」，實際指長期欺負、使喚、虧待某人。臺詞說這個孩子一輩子被人 kicked around，就是「受盡欺負」。
意思是預備性的投票，正式開始前先試探各方立場。陪審團按慣例先投一輪 preliminary vote，好知道每個人怎麼想。
說 the rest of us。有人的話裡是 you sat in court with the rest of us，強調「你和我們大家一樣都在場」，用來質問對方。
