bail 是保釋金，put ... up 指拿東西抵押湊錢。片裡說她媽把房子 put up for my bail，就是「拿房子做抵押，把我保出來」，等於一家人的房產都押上了。
不是「弄直」，而是「把亂賬、亂事理順、擺平」。I got to straighten out everything with Paulie 就是「我得跟保利把一切擺平」，不然命都保不住。
collar 在俚語裡指「逮捕」，took a collar 就是「被抓過、進過局子」。審問的人問他上回被抓是什麼時候，用的就是這個說法。
get the lawyer，口語裡也可以說 get me a lawyer 或 I want my lawyer。被捕時這幾句幾乎是標準臺詞，態度越簡短越顯得不好對付。
