not in my department。也可以說 not my department，意思一樣。想推掉不屬於自己的責任、不想被捲進麻煩，說這句既明確又不撕破臉。
the underdog。原指鬥狗裡弱勢的那隻，現在指比賽、競爭裡不被看好的一方，也可以指生活中受欺負、處境不利的人，帶一點同情。
多半是反諷。字面誇「老實得不能再老實」，用在賭場、酒吧這種地方，其實是在調侃對方：這地方當然不算老實。聽懂這層弦外之音，才懂這句玩笑。
put it down as 是「把它記作、就當作」。整句意思是「就當是給愛情送的一份禮」。裡克放走一對小情侶，嘴上說是給愛情獻禮，其實是嘴硬心軟。
