黑市老闆法拉利找上裡克，說烏加特死了、通行證下落不明，話鋒一轉就提議替他經手，只收點 incidental expenses（零星雜費）。裡克一眼看穿，回他一句一早上從不喝酒。最後法拉利勸他 take someone into your confidence（對你交底），說自己這合夥人正合適。想學生意場上半真半假的客套，這幾句很傳神。

烏加特一死，通行證成了卡薩布蘭卡最值錢的東西。黑市老闆法拉利找上門，先假惺惺說為烏加特難過，被裡克當面戳穿：You're a fat hypocrite（你這個虛偽的胖子）。他接著提議，由他 Get rid of the letters（把通行證脫手），風險全擔，只收點 incidental expenses（零星雜費）。裡克不動聲色，最後法拉利攤牌，勸他 take someone into your confidence（對你交底），說自己正適合當合夥人。想學討價還價、旁敲側擊、看穿場面話，這幾句都用得上。
