伊爾莎深夜從街上摸上樓，來求裡克把通行證交出來，好讓丈夫拉斯洛離開卡薩布蘭卡。裡克明明知道她來意，還酸她一句 We're back in Paris（咱們又回到巴黎了）。她放低姿態，說 put your feelings aside（先把個人感情放一放），裡克卻回 It's no deal（免談），並說 I'm the only cause I'm interested in（我唯一在乎的就是我自己）。她氣得罵他 coward and a weakling（膽小鬼、懦夫），他乾脆說 Go ahead and shoot（開槍吧），還說這算幫了他一個忙。想學談判式哀求、翻臉羞辱、以死相逼的臺詞，這幾句都夠狠。
