在樂園玩過之後，歐文開車送鄧肯回家。路上他嫌鄧肯推三阻四、說話繞，直說 we've got to start having faster conversations（咱們得把話說快點）；兩人互相損，歐文一邊說 hands on the wheel（手扶著方向盤）幫不了忙，一邊又調侃鄧肯的海灘住得遠、獨立日大家 drive like idiots（開車像瘋子）。他還一本正經地編了段身世：當過柬埔寨小孩、在越戰裡 in the shit（身陷險境）、進馬戲團當小丑鬥士，然後補一句 I'm kidding except for the part where...（我開玩笑的，除了……那部分）。臨別時他丟擲一個工作：來樂園當 floater（頂班打雜的機動員工），乾點 odd jobs（零活）、清嘔吐物。想學怎麼用英文閒聊、損人、給工作，這些說法都很自然。

它的意思是「除了……那部分」，常用來先假裝收回一句話，再說出真正想強調的轉折，帶喜劇效果。
