審訊室裡，准將先問 Which of you（你們哪一個）會說英語，還提醒有人 an hour ago（一小時前）明明講過。他說自己不會用對方那套手段，卻有辦法 find out（查明）真相，追問炸藥是幹什麼用的、三個人被帶到哪兒去了。可惜他必須走，臨走說自己還想對俘虜再來一次 another shot（再來一次的機會）。接手的軍官立刻 got the idea（明白過來了），宣佈 in command here（由他指揮），用自己的方式 deal with（對付）這幫人，甚至學准將的腔調，說他有辦法 get what I want（得到想要的東西）。軟硬兩套審訊擺在一起，高下和危險都看得出來。play deaf 是裝聾、裝沒聽見；take a chance 是碰碰運氣；tackle something 是正面處理。

下一章 · 19have kittens急得團團轉這場戲：將軍趕火車卻沒車意思是「裝聾、假裝沒聽見」，用來責怪對方明明聽到了卻不回應。劇中質問俘虜時用的就是這句。
說 take a chance，也可以說 take a chance on something。劇中准將嫌軍營伙食差，說要去別處碰碰運氣。
說 another shot at something，shot 在這裡是「嘗試」。劇中准將惋惜自己得走，說還想再撬一次俘虜的嘴。
是很重的罵人話，指「渣滓、人渣」，幾乎不用於玩笑。劇中審訊者用它稱呼俘虜，火氣極大。
說 tackle something，指正面去解決、應付一件難事或難纏的人。劇中軍官說 I'll tackle them，就是「我來對付他們」。
