喬提前一天回家，撞見妻子莎拉神色不對。他像個偵探一樣擺證據：浴室全是 steam in the shower（水汽），只有莎拉的頭髮是乾的，馬桶圈還是掀起來的，所以壁櫥裡藏著個男人，而且是他提前把鑰匙插進鎖孔時才被塞進去的。他不掀門、不開罵，而是 count to three（數到三）下最後通牒，一句 You can stop me any time by telling the truth（說真話隨時能讓我停手）逼對方開口。莎拉終於承認出軌，物件竟是喬的朋友邁克；喬冷冷回一句，兩人的交情大概就到邁克開始和我老婆搞在一起為止。想學怎麼用細節推理、怎麼用平靜的威脅施壓，這些說法都很值得抄。

losing it。lose it 指撐不住、情緒爆發，片裡說 you're losing it，就是「你快瘋了」。日常也能說 I'm losing it，表示快繃不住了。
put a bullet in。bullet 是子彈，put a bullet in something 就是朝某物開槍，語氣很狠，常用於威脅或憤怒的場面。
口語裡 psycho 多指「神經病、瘋子」，是很重的貶義，別隨便當面用。它也能作字首表示「心理的」，如 psychology。
surveillance job。surveillance 指監視、盯梢，私家偵探接的跟蹤偷拍類工作就叫 surveillance job，片裡喬就在接這種活。
