院子裡有人喊孩子去撿，旁邊馬上說 like they're dogs（把人當狗使）。問自己往後會不會沒事，得到的是 the wrong guy（問錯視窗了）。一個是嫌對方帶孩子的方式，一個是承認自己也給不了準話。家裡臨時多一個大人，這兩句都用得上。

早飯桌上，有人把一個以前從沒見過的人介紹成新男友。後來有人丟擲 something neat（一件挺妙的小事），說要一起生寶寶。有人問 Aren't you supposed to be married（按規矩應該），另一邊把相愛、結婚、生寶寶排成順序。孩子講完送子鳥、流血和屁股掉下來，有人接 that's exactly right（完全正確），後面沒人改這套說法。孩子拿草喂熊時，有人說 smoke it（點著抽，暗指大麻）。接著有人跟孩子玩撿球，旁邊說 like they're dogs（把人當狗使），又提到胖和基因，才有人勸 give him a break（饒過這一輪）。最後問自己會不會沒事，得到 the wrong guy（問錯視窗了）。家裡突然多一個人，或想接住小孩的荒唐話，這幾句都能用。
A1–C2 是歐標等級。點一個等級後，比它高的卡片會變淡，播放到那裡不會自動暫停。

小孩把大人的人生順序編成反問，認真得可笑，又沒處躲。

朋友較真問規矩時能用，對上司別用反問。

反問先揚，supposed 加重，後半句別搶。

他拿我的孩子當狗在逗。
一個遊戲被一句話改成指控，比喻狠，詞卻都好懂。

嫌對方把人當寵物時，對身邊人說；當面取笑別用。
You're handling them like pets. ／ That's how you talk to a dog.

treating 加重，like 後一頓，dogs 落下。

“I wish I liked anything as much as my kids like bubbles.”
真希望我喜歡什麼東西，能像我孩子喜歡泡泡那樣。
用孩子對泡泡的瘋勁，量出大人什麼都愛不起來。
I wish I + 過去式 + as much as + 另一件事
跟好友感嘆自己高興不起來時說，炫耀的人面前別用。

wish 後換氣，much 最重，bubbles 輕收。

“Their smiling faces just point out your inability to enjoy anything.”
他們的笑臉正好點明：你已經什麼都享受不了。
笑臉不安慰人，反而被拿來當證據，證明你不會高興。

熟人感嘆自己高興不起來，你順勢點他一句時用；安慰人或正式場合別用。
Their joy just shows what you can't feel. ／ Those smiles make your flat mood obvious.

faces 連著走，inability 放慢再點明。
Those photos just point out your inability to sit still. 這些照片正好指出你就是坐不住。
“Is anybody okay? I'm not okay.”
有誰還好？我不好。
先問所有人，再把自己摘出去，喪得乾脆，沒有安慰。
Is anybody ...? I'm not ....
自己也垮了、不想再給熟人打包票時說；剛認識的人面前別這麼喪。
Is anyone actually fine? I'm not. ／ Does anybody have it together? I don't.

兩個 okay 都別輕，問號處停半拍。
Is anybody sleeping? I'm not sleeping. 有誰睡得著？我睡不著。

你問錯人了。
不裝懂，也不安慰，直接告訴對方：這問題我答不了。

對方拿你當顧問、你自己也亂時說，真有答案就別推。

asking 放輕，wrong guy 兩個詞咬住。

下一章 · 04out the window一下子全作廢這場戲：閃過逃去加拿大按規矩應該。有人問 Aren't you supposed to be married to have a baby，就是拿「生寶寶要不要先結婚」這條預設規矩來對質。不是下命令，是覺得事情沒按那個順序來。
說 give him a break。數落已經從玩撿球說到胖和基因，有人勸 Just give him a break，就是叫這一輪先停。後面是 I'll try，只是答應儘量，不是保證做得到。
說 the wrong guy，整句是 You're asking the wrong guy。前面有人問 Am I gonna be okay，接著出現 who knows，又出現 I'm not okay，最後才是這句。它是在擋問題，不是在打包票。
字面是完全正確。孩子剛講完送子鳥丟下寶寶、身上裂開一個洞、血從頭上冒出來、屁股掉下來再挖出寶寶，接著就是 That's exactly right，後面也沒人改這套說法。至於是認真同意還是懶得糾正，對白看不出來。
把人當狗使。先有 He's playing fetch with my kids，接著是 He's treating my kids like they're dogs，後面還問 Who plays fetch with kids。扔出去、喊撿回來，被當成對狗的玩法。
