彗星都快撞上來了，臺下的觀眾卻在喊 Just look up（抬頭看）和 Don't look up（別抬頭），兩派人各喊各的。脫口秀嘉賓乾脆說，這個國家該停止 virtue signaling（道德表演），好好相處就行。想看懂英文新聞裡政黨互相貼標籤，這場戲全是現成說法。

彗星要撞地球了，人們卻分成了兩派。一撥人在集會上齊喊 Just look up（抬頭看），催大家看天上的真相；另一撥人喊 Don't look up（別抬頭），說對方只想嚇唬老百姓。脫口秀裡有人勸大家別再 virtue signaling（道德表演），好好相處就行。這些說法是英文政治新聞和網路罵戰的常客，聽懂它們，才能分清誰在帶節奏、誰在說事實，也能聽懂身邊的爭論。
A1–C2 是歐標等級。點一個等級後，比它高的卡片會變淡，播放到那裡不會自動暫停。

把恐懼和美放在同一句裡，兩個相反的詞撞出對末日的複雜感受。

把這顆彗星帶回地球來牟利，沒有任何安全的辦法。這是做不到的！
先否掉安全可能，再一句短判收尾，把科學警告喊成結論。

下一章 · 24nature calls去方便一下這場戲：家宴中彗星攔截失敗字面是「滿是屎」，實際就是罵人「胡說八道、一派胡言」。臺詞裡說 If anyone tells you any different, they're full of shit，意思是誰跟你說不是這樣，他就是在放屁。語氣很衝，別在正式場合用。
look down one's nose at someone。畫面感很強：鼻子翹得高高的，從上往下看人。臺詞裡是 They are looking down their noses at you，指他們打心底看不起你們。
它指為了顯得自己高尚而公開表態，未必真做了什麼，所以常被用來諷刺「道德表演、作秀表態」。脫口秀裡說 stop arguing and virtue signaling，就是嫌大家光忙著站隊表演。
Just look up。集會、遊行裡常把短句當口號喊。編劇用 Just look up 和 Don't look up 兩個相反的口號，把同一件事說成兩種立場。
不是。它指不用動腦、圖個輕鬆的電影，就像邊吃爆米花邊看。臺詞裡說 It's a popcorn movie，是自嘲這部片子就是拍來讓人放鬆的，沒有貶義但也不誇它深刻。
put one foot in front of the other。字面是「把一隻腳放在另一隻腳前面」，形容再難也先邁出下一步。後面接 step by step、day by day，就是一天天熬過去的意思。
