指「笑柄、被大家取笑的人」。它由 laughing 和 stock 組成，畫面是一個人成了別人嘴裡的笑話，語氣比 joke 更狠。
make stuff up。stuff 指東西、玩意兒，up 表示憑空造出來。臺詞裡勸對方別照本宣科，要 make stuff up，就是「你得會現編」。
adjacent 是「鄰近的」，lying-adjacent 就是「跟撒謊捱得很近、近乎撒謊」。這是個臨時造出來的詞，幽默地給講故事定了性。
oh, perfect 表面是誇「太完美了」，實際上常用來吐槽倒霉事。臺詞裡說完緊接著 no one's gonna get any sleep，反諷意味一下就出來了。
