有人上门来催歌剧的稿子，屋里的人先把桌上的安魂曲盖起来，一遍遍说 He's not here（他不在）、he's working on it（他在赶）。可来人偏要翻稿子，一句 What's this? A Requiem Mass?（这是什么？一部安魂弥撒？）把气氛点炸。想学怎么应付催进度、怎么把不想让人看的活儿藏起来，这几句句句能用。

有人上门来催莫扎特的歌剧稿，屋里的人先敷衍：He's not here（他不在），还补一句 he's working on it（他在赶）。来人却翻到桌上的乐谱，怀疑地问 What's this? A Requiem Mass?（这是什么？一部安魂弥撒？），屋主赶紧挡回去：Leave that alone（别碰那个）。争执升级后，剧本被骂得一文不值，有人只回一句 Money. Money.（钱，钱）。working on it 是「在做、还没弄完」，催进度、交差前都能用；in the funeral business 是「干殡葬这行的」；in my noodle 是口语里的「在脑子里」，说稿子还没落到纸上时很好用。
A1–C2 是欧标等级。点一个等级后，比它高的卡片会变淡，播放到那里不会自动暂停。
“It's all right here in my noodle. The rest is just scribbling.”

把天才的傲慢说成一句轻描淡写：谱子都在脑子里。

自问自答的顶嘴句，把对方的指责原样弹回去，节奏干脆。

反驳别人的指责、反将一军时用；熟人斗嘴里很常见。

口语
ridiculous 重读，libretto 咬清三音节。
You know what's ridiculous? Your excuse! 你知道什么才可笑吗？你的借口！
“I'm frightened. I'm very,very frightened!”
我害怕。我非常非常害怕！
重复被 very,very 撑开，把仆人的恐惧一层层加上去。
I'm very, very (adjective)!
想把程度说足、又不显得文绉绉时用，口语里很自然。
I'm really, really scared. ／ I'm very, very worried.
中性
两个 very 中间略顿，frightened 重音在前。
I'm very, very nervous about this test. 这次考试我特别特别紧张。
“He sits there all the time,doing some silly opera.”
他整天就坐在这儿，写些傻乎乎的什么歌剧。
all the time 配 silly opera，仆人的轻蔑和担忧都出来了。

形容某人整天埋头做一件你看不上或看不懂的事时用。

口语
all the time 连读，opera 重读。
He sits there all the time, doing some silly game. 他整天坐那儿打些傻乎乎的游戏。

因为没什么可看的。
一句轻飘飘的回答，把催稿人所有的期待当场按灭。
Because there's nothing to ...
被追问东西在哪、又不想多解释时用；干脆又有点赖。
Because there's nothing to show. ／ There's simply nothing in it.
中性
because 轻出，nothing to see 带过。
Because there's nothing to show, honestly. 因为真的没什么可看的。

to hell with。后面直接接你不想要的东西，比如 to hell with your death Mass 就是「去你的死亡弥撒」。语气很重，别在正式场合用。
doing his best 或 doing your best。帮别人说话时常用，比如他已经尽力了就说 he's doing his best，等于替他求情，让人别太苛责。
意思是「在做、在赶、还没弄完」，用来回应别人催进度。这里屋里的人替莫扎特挡客，说 he's working on it，等于「他正在写，别催」。
字面是「干殡葬这行的」，这里是为了打发翻到安魂曲的人，故意说自己又不是做丧事生意的，好把稿子从对方手里拿回来。
