射擊靶場上，漢森突然舉槍指著奧尼爾，只問一句 Can I trust you?（我能信你嗎？）。奧尼爾沒躲，回他 It's just us out here（這兒就我們倆），又補一句 You don't matter that much（你沒那麼重要）。被上司當眾懷疑、逼你表態時，這套不慌不忙的回答最值錢。

FBI 靶場上，漢森把槍口轉向身邊的奧尼爾，追問他在車裡接的是誰的電話，逼他回答 Can I trust you?（我能信你嗎？）。奧尼爾先叫他把槍放下，再一句 It's just us out here（這兒就我們倆）穩住場面，接著點明沒人 tailing（跟蹤）他。等漢森鬆了勁，奧尼爾的回擊更狠：You don't matter that much（你沒那麼重要），還說漢森成天 grind（把……往死裡逼）所有人。最後他用一句 at the end of the day（說到底）收尾，說原因根本不重要。被上司無端懷疑、要當面把話說清楚又不想撕破臉時，這幾句都能直接用。

把最深的懷疑壓成一句平靜的追問，槍口下才問得出口。
I need to know if I can (do something).
向合作方確認底線時用；對方正在氣頭上就先別問。
I need to know if I can count on you. ／ I have to know whether I can trust you.
中性
need to 連讀，know 重讀，trust you 收尾放緩。
I need to know if I can count on you with the keys. 我得知道，鑰匙能不能放心交給你。
“It's just us out here.”
這外面就咱們倆。
用最樸素的一句陳述，清空對方滿腦子的埋伏和跟蹤。
It's just us (somewhere).
安撫多疑的人、強調沒有外人時用；語氣要放軟。
There's nobody else around. ／ It's only the two of us here.
口語
just us 連讀，out here 稍拖長。
Relax, it's just us out here tonight. 放鬆點，今晚這外面就咱們倆。
“At the end of the day, it's all crap.”
說到底，這些全是廢話。
先擺出總結的架子，再用 crap 一把掀翻所有藉口。
At the end of the day, it's all (noun).
看破一堆藉口後下結論時用；正式場合把 crap 換掉。
When all is said and done, it's nonsense. ／ In the end, none of it holds up.
口語
end of the day 連讀，crap 加重。
When all is said and done, it's mostly noise. 說到底，這些多半隻是噪音。
“You are who you are.”
你就是你。
不解釋不辯解，一句同義反復作廢對方全部分析。
You are who you are.
勸人別再糾結原因時用；安慰或攤牌都合適。
People are who they are. ／ You are what you are.

are 重讀，who you are 平收不升調。
Stop overthinking it. You are who you are. 別想太多了，你就是你。
“The why doesn't mean a thing, does it?”
那個「為什麼」，根本毫無意義，不是嗎？
把「為什麼」本身當成東西來否定，反問收尾逼人接話。

拆穿對方追問動機時用；反問帶挑釁，別對傷心的人說。

承認自己排練過一堆理由，反而比理由本身更扎心。

準備了一堆說辭卻說不出口時用；語氣帶自嘲。

all these 輕快帶過，ready 稍頓。
I had my excuses ready, and then I froze. 我準備了一肚子藉口，結果當場卡殼。

The page was from Juliana, obviously. My wife. She's trying to reach me because I told her I'd be home by now, and because we're in another fight, caused by you, as usual.

"He was born in the wrong century. His father was a jerk." I got a whole list. But you know something, sir? At the end of the day, it's all crap. You are who you are. The why doesn't mean a thing, does it?

字面是「我能信你嗎」。片中是漢森舉槍時的試探，不是真在徵求意見，而是逼對方當場表態；順著答 yes 反而更危險。
地道說法是 at the end of the day，用在講完一堆理由後下結論，意思就是「歸根結底」。片里奧尼爾最後說 At the end of the day, it's all crap，就是「說到底，全是廢話」。口語書面都能用。
字面是「你沒那麼重要」。片中是奧尼爾為了打消漢森的被害妄想，意思是沒人費勁跟蹤你。對上司當面說確實重，但用來自嘲或安慰多疑的人反而不算冒犯。
tailing 專指偷偷跟蹤、盯梢，帶監視意味，多用在偵探、特工場景；follow 只是跟著走，很中性。片裡 Nobody's tailing you 就是「沒人盯著你」。說自己被人跟蹤，用 tail 更準。
先別急著辯解，先承認對方在意的點，再給事實。像片裡先讓對方把槍放下，再用 It's just us out here（這兒就我們倆）說明沒有外人，最後擺出證據。句子短、語氣穩，比搶著解釋有效。
