colossally 把 stupid 放大到誇張，怒氣全在副詞上。

事後罵人蠢時用；衝口而出，正式場合別說。

colossally 重音在第二音節，stupid 收得乾脆。

下一章 · 19keep your head on straight保持清醒、別亂了陣腳這場戲：追問當特工的代價意思是「不是表面看上去那樣」，用來否認別人的誤會。埃裡克被妻子看到監視錄影時，第一句話就是 This is not what it looks like，等於中文的「不是你想的那樣」。
可以用 steam open。劇裡說 so you weren't just steaming open his mail，意思是「所以你不是偷偷拆開他的信？」，這是偷看信件又不想留下痕跡的老辦法。
意思是「把事情理清、別搞混」。埃裡克說 I'm telling so many lies now, I can't keep 'em straight anymore，就是謊撒得太多，連自己都記不清哪句是真哪句是假了。
它指「危及、損害」，語氣比 hurt 重，多用於會毀掉整件事的嚴重情況。凱特罵埃裡克 You could jeopardize this entire investigation，就是說他可能毀掉整個調查。
形容包裹「完好無損、毫無痕跡」。凱特反覆確認包裹重新封好後看不出被拆過，埃裡克回答 It was pristine，意思是他寄出去時跟原樣一樣，不會讓收件方起疑。
