H 找上子彈，對方先來一句 You know I like you（你知道我挺喜歡你吧），接著坦白自己就是內應：I tell them which trucks to hit（我告訴他們該劫哪輛車），還冷冷地說死掉的守衛是 necessary（必要的）。想學自白、談判裡那種又體面又嚇人的說法，很夠味。

H 找到子彈，開口就問一句他怎麼住得起這樣的房子。子彈也不裝了，承認自己有幫 pals（弟兄），是他帶他們進了 the cash truck game（運鈔車這一行），靠 With me on the inside（我在內部）給他們指路：I tell them which trucks to hit（我告訴他們該劫哪輛車）。說到死人，他態度冷得嚇人——那兩個守衛被殺是 necessary（必要的），那個孩子只是 unfortunate（不走運）。談完底牌，兩人開始談條件，最後問 Do we have a deal（成交嗎），對方回 We have a deal（成交）。想學自白和談條件時的說法，這幾句都很好用。
A1–C2 是歐標等級。點一個等級後，比它高的卡片會變淡，播放到那裡不會自動暫停。

那兩個警衛被殺，是必須的。
用最平靜的語氣給殺人找理由，把殘忍說成流程的一部分。可怕之處不在內容，而在那份理所當然。
The ... being killed was necessary
描述把傷害合理化到冷血的邏輯時用，語氣平直。
It was a necessary cost. ／ They wrote it off as unavoidable.
中性
being killed 放慢，necessary 平直收尾。
The layoffs were necessary. 那些裁員是必須的。
“So do as I say and you won't get hurt.”
所以照我說的做，你就不會受傷。
一句冷靜的條件句，把合作和傷害擺成二選一，威脅藏在「照做」裡。
Do as I say and you won't get hurt.
對方不配合、需要給一個明確條件時用，語氣冷；對朋友說會變成威脅。
Follow my lead and nobody gets hurt. ／ Cooperate and this stays painless.
口語
do as I say 平直，won't get hurt 降調收住。
Do as I say and this will go smoothly. 照我說的做，這事就會很順利。
“For starters, there are no bullets in your gun.”
首先，你的槍里根本沒有子彈。
先亮出對方底牌已被抽走，一句話就把談判的權力關係翻過來。

攤牌時先說出一個讓對方震驚的事即時用，語氣冷靜；對上級使用會顯得挑釁。
To begin with, your gun is empty. ／ First, you're not holding the cards.
口語

“I tell them which trucks to hit.”
我告訴他們該劫哪輛車。
用最平常的現在時交代自己的角色：不是我去搶，是我告訴他們搶哪輛。冷就冷在這份輕描淡寫。

平靜說明自己在某件事裡扮演什麼角色時用；語氣越平，效果越冷。

下一章 · 13hard boiled強硬老練這場戲：劫匪突襲現金庫字面是「看向另一邊」，實際是「假裝沒看見、放一馬」。別人做違規的事你不揭發、不阻止，就可以說 look the other way。
what's in it for me。談合作、談條件時常用來直接問對方「這事對我有什麼好處」，語氣可以直白也可以開玩笑。
意思是「某種意義上、可以這麼說」。當一句話不太準確、又不完全假時，用它來打圓場，比如承認自己「算是在裡面幫忙」。
用來起頭列舉，後面接第一條理由或第一件事，意思就是「首先、先說第一點」，比 firstly 更口語。
因為說話的人用 necessary（必要的）來形容兩個守衛的死，把一個殘忍的事說成理所當然，那種冷漠正是最嚇人的地方。
