軍方口語裡 birds 就是飛機、戰機，不是真的鳥。臺詞說那些 Langley birds，就是「蘭利基地那幾架飛機」，這種叫法在軍隊裡很常見。
last-known position。臺詞說 I want last-known position, speed and altitude，就是「我要它最後已知的位置、速度和高度」。追蹤失聯目標時常用這個詞。
transponder 是應答機，飛機靠它向雷達傳送身份和高度訊號。lost the transponder 就是「應答機訊號丟了」，雷達上再也認不出這架飛機，只剩一個原始回波。
