客艙裡沒人能刷手機，訊息全靠口口相傳：有人從妻子的電話裡聽到 Two planes hit the World Trade Center（兩架飛機撞了世貿中心），一路往後傳；有人不敢信，說 It doesn't make sense（這說不通）。想學怎麼複述訊息、怎麼表達難以置信，這段全是真實口語。

客艙裡沒有即時新聞，訊息只能靠乘客和乘務員一個傳一個：有人從妻子的電話裡聽說 Two planes hit the World Trade Center（兩架飛機撞了世貿中心），被要求 Tell the stewardesses（告訴乘務員），於是往後排一個個轉達。有人覺得 It doesn't make sense（這說不通），追問 Where are you guys hearing this（你們從哪兒聽來的）；也有人反覆說 Airplanes, one after the other（飛機一架接一架）。隨後五角大樓爆炸的訊息也傳進客艙，恐慌升級，大家開始問 Are we one of them, or are we the sixth（我們是其中一架，還是第六架）。想學轉述、確認、追問和表達懷疑的口語，這段幾乎是逐句素材。

“It doesn't make sense. Are you sure you heard that right?”
這說不通啊。你確定沒聽錯？
先質疑事情本身，再質疑對方耳朵，兩句把混亂裡的不信任全說透。
Are you sure you heard that right?
聽到離譜訊息、想確認對方沒聽錯時用；對長輩這樣說會顯得不客氣。
Did you hear that correctly? ／ Are you sure that's what they said?
口語
doesn't make sense 連讀，Are you sure 降調，heard that right 句尾上揚。
Are you sure you heard that right? It sounds wrong. 你確定沒聽錯？聽著不對勁。
“It's two airplanes. It's not a bomb.”
是兩架飛機。不是炸彈。
兩個短句把傳言掰正，越簡單的否定越像在安撫慌亂的客艙。
It's X. It's not Y.
要當眾糾正一個傳錯的說法時用；語速放慢，別帶著情緒。
They were planes, not a bomb. ／ No bomb, just aircraft.

下一章 · 16suicide mission自殺式行動這場戲：乘客決定反擊劫機者意思是「說得通、有道理」。臺詞說 It doesn't make sense，加 not 就是「這說不通、不合常理」。聽來的訊息讓誰都覺得離譜時，用這句最自然。
one after the other。臺詞 Airplanes, one after the other, hit the World Trade Center，就是「飛機一架接一架撞上世貿中心」。形容事情接連發生也能用。
call back。臺詞說 I will call you back, I promise，就是「我回頭再打給你，我保證」。注意賓語放中間，說成 call you back，別說 call back you。
prop 是 propeller（螺旋槳）的縮寫，prop planes 就是螺旋槳飛機。聽到「飛機撞大樓」，有人以為是這種小飛機，才追問 Do they mean prop planes。
指「新聞上播了、新聞裡有報道」。臺詞 It's on the news 就是「新聞上播了」。轉述訊息來源時，on the news、on TV 都很常用。
