下一章 · 13shed a tear掉眼淚這場戲：勸她一起遠走高飛指「沉默守則、封口規矩」，源自黑幫或同鄉之間不告密的不成文規矩。劇裡探員嘲笑道格那套愛爾蘭式的沉默守則，說它遲早會垮掉。
可以說 a rat。劇裡用一整段設問引出它——把秘密出賣給警方、害同伴入獄的人，在街區的說法裡就是 a rat（叛徒）。
lift a print。劇中有人說 We lifted a print off the van，就是從麵包車上提取到一枚指紋，這個說法也常用在別的物證上。
本意是「跳房子」，指小孩的遊戲。劇中探員說 This isn't townie hopscotch anymore，意思是這不再是本地小孩鬧著玩的小事，語氣很重。
是斬釘截鐵的拒絕：沒有交易，沒有妥協。劇中探員用它堵死道格協商或合作減刑的可能，配合前面「你會死在監獄裡」的警告。
