下一章 · 16on the spur of the moment一时冲动这场戏：争论是否让绑匪上节目字面是「双向的街道」，实际指「需要双方共同付出」的关系或事情。交情是双向的、合作是双向的，说的都是不能只靠一方使劲。抱怨对方只顾自己时，这句话很有力。
用 pull off，常搭配 pull it off / pull this off。它强调事情本来不容易，结果还是做成了。像 You pulled this off，就是「这事你居然干成了」，带点佩服的口气。
不是。它是「把人逼疯、烦死」，相当于 drive someone crazy。You're driving me nuts 就是「你快把我逼疯了」，被吵得受不了、被烦到抓狂时最常说。
意思是「正式提出控告」，多出现在法律、警匪语境。I won't press charges 就是「我不告你 / 不追究」。受害者决定要不要报警、要不要起诉时，媒体和日常都会用这个词组。
意思都是「尽管、虽然」，但 in spite of 后面接名词或短语，although 后面接完整句子。in spite of all that 就是「尽管有这一切」，杰里用它把一堆苦衷一口气总结掉。
