一輛偷來的車，車身上一道彈痕都沒有，可這樁死刑謀殺案已經有人因此被定罪。開槍的人本該打中 the damn thing（那鬼東西），結果一槍沒中，車完好無損；維多爾人則 under the impression（以為）死的是黑人警察。看懂「以為」和事實之間的落差，聊新聞、談案子時最用得上。

汽車彈痕鑑定是這樁死刑謀殺案的關鍵：大衛·哈里斯偷來的那輛車上找不到槍擊痕跡，目擊者反覆強調「一點痕跡都沒有」，而開槍的人本該能打中 the damn thing（那鬼東西）。另一邊，辯護律師團想把案子翻過來，提到道葛拉斯·馬爾德 a perfect win record（全勝戰績），又擔心自己被當成 gullible（容易輕信）的人；維多爾人 under the impression（以為）被殺警察是黑人。描述一個人的勝負記錄、形容自己輕易相信別人、表達「自以為」，這三組說法在日常閒聊和討論新聞裡都能直接用。
A1–C2 是歐標等級。點一個等級後，比它高的卡片會變淡，播放到那裡不會自動暫停。
“She should have hit the damn thing one time. She didn't.”

前半句給出應然，後半句三個詞就把應然推翻，火氣全在 She didn't 裡。

說別人該做卻沒做時套用；帶著責怪口氣，正式檢討裡少用。

口語
should have 連讀成 should've，She didn't 壓低，句尾收短。
You should have asked. You didn't. 你本該問一聲。可你沒有。
“I admit, I'm sort of a gullible person.”
我承認，我這人算是有點容易輕信。
先自曝短處再繼續講道理，一句自嘲反而把別人的偏見擋了回去。
I admit, I'm sort of a ... person.
先認下自己的缺點、再談正事時用；自嘲要適度，別顯得自卑。

I admit 後停頓一下，sort of a 快帶過，gullible 略重。

I hate to be considered... some kind of dummy that believes in the innocence of her clients. A lot of people think, "A woman lawyer... "she's bound to stupidly believe anything she's told." gullible 指「容易輕信的」。說自己時多是自嘲，說別人則接近「好騙、耳根子軟」。片裡有人說 I admit, I'm sort of a gullible person，就是坦白自己容易信人。
因為這是全案疑點：如果車真被手槍打中，應該留下彈痕，可找遍了都找不到。有人就說 She should have hit the damn thing one time. She didn't，用「本該打中卻沒有」點出證據站不住腳。
用 to discredit。片裡說有人告訴維多爾人，那位律師來就是 to discredit 大衛·哈里斯，也就是讓人不再信他。
