聚會上，有人堅信星座能決定命運，對方一句 If astrology were true, twins would have the same fate（如果星座是真的，雙胞胎就該有同樣的命運）直接開懟，還甩出 If you don't know what you're talking about, why don't you try not talking?（不懂就別開口）。兩人越吵越兇，最後鬧到街邊車裡。想學怎麼用英文優雅地懟人，這幾句夠用。

用同一句話的否定回敬對方，像關門一樣乾淨。沒有髒字，卻比罵人更讓人無話可說。

懟那些不懂卻一直插話的人時用，語氣冷而硬。

表面誇「新鮮」，其實在說「你從來不動腦子」。一個形容詞就把反諷全部扛住。

用反話挖苦某人難得動一次腦子時用，語氣刻薄。
Well, that's new for you. ／ Look who finally had a thought.
口語
novel 重讀，for you 輕挑收尾。
Washing the dish first? That's a novel idea for you. 居然先洗碗？你可真難得想到一回。
“Look, we were together a lot of years. She's a great lady. I know.”
聽著，我們在一起很多年。她是個很好的女人。我知道。
醉話裡最清醒的一句：承認對方好，也承認自己知道。沒有辯解，只有認賬。
She's a great lady. I know.
承認自己錯過了一個很好的人時用，語氣平靜而認命。
She was good and I knew it. ／ I know exactly what I gave up.
口語

下一章 · 12wipe out一筆勾銷這場戲：醉後來敲門想複合指越界、說了或做了不該說的話和事，常用於提醒對方「你過分了」。片裡有人喝多了說了重話，就先用 don't tell me I'm out of line 頂回去。
可以說 If you don't know what you're talking about, why don't you try not talking? 前半句點出對方不懂，後半句用反問懟回去，比直接說 shut up 更扎。
意思是「表明一個觀點、講清一個立場」，不是單純的吵架。片裡有人說 What can I tell you? I'm just making a point，就是「我只是在講個道理」。
指面部整形、做過臉部醫美，比 plastic surgery 更口語。片裡問 She looked great. Has she had face work?，就是懷疑對方做了臉。
意思是「把這話算在我頭上、拿我擔責」。片裡說話的人先宣告自己喝醉了，用 don't hold me responsible 打預防針，再說出那句重的。
