裡珀將軍自殺後，基地裡一片混亂：瓜諾上校拿槍頂著曼德雷克，命令他 hands over your head（把手舉過頭頂），還把他當成可疑分子。曼德雷克自報身份——皇家空軍上校、裡珀的 executive officer（副指揮官），堅稱必須立刻 get in touch with（聯絡）戰略空軍司令部，因為他有把握猜出 recall code（召回密碼），就是裡珀生前反覆唸叨的「世界和平」或「精氣的純潔」的變體。他忍不住說，裡珀早就 as mad as a March hare（瘋得離譜）。可瓜諾只當他胡言亂語，押著他往外走。想學軍事對峙、自報身份、著急辯解的英語，看它就夠。

hands over your head，是喝令對方投降的常見說法。劇裡 Put your hands over your head 就是「把手舉到頭頂」，警察、軍人抓人時常用。
指「與……取得聯絡」。劇裡說 I have to get in touch with SAC headquarters immediately，就是「我必須馬上聯絡戰略空軍司令部」，找人、找機構都能用。
