Santa Flies with Seven Reindeer, Explained: one way or another
With the star stolen and the elves poisoned, Christmas itself is at stake. Santa decides to fly to Turkey for a new star, even with only seven reindeer: "I'm not even sure we can get the sleigh off the ground." He steadies Kate, tells her it is not her fault, and asks for all the help he can get.
What happens
Belsnickel steals the Christmas Star and poisons the elves with Elf Bane. Santa says the Pole and Christmas itself are doomed unless they act, so he heads for the stables to fly to Turkey for a new star. Even with only seven reindeer, he tells Kate he needs all the help he can get.
