Privacy policy
What we collect and why. Last updated 3 October 2026.
Who we are
WinkLingo (眨眼英语) teaches English with movie and series clips. Privacy questions go to [email protected].
Accounts
You can sign in with Google, or with a one-time code sent to your email. A password is optional. We store the email on the account, and the learning record tied to it: words you save, review progress, and membership status.
Data we collect
The account email and learning history described above.
Umami records anonymous visit statistics: which pages are opened. It does not require an account.
Microsoft Clarity shows how a page is used, including clicks and scrolling, so we can fix the interface.
Cloudflare delivers the site. To keep it online and limit abuse, it may process IP addresses and request data.
We do not sell personal information.
Payments
Paid plans are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number. Alipay payments also go through Stripe. Stripe receives what it needs to charge you and to limit fraud.
Cookies
wink_locale remembers the interface language you chose.
wl_src remembers the first place you came from (the referring site and campaign parameters), so we can see which channels actually bring learners. Later visits do not overwrite it.
Signing in may set a session cookie. Umami, Clarity, and Cloudflare may set their own cookies.
Deletion
Email [email protected] from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We delete the account and the learning record tied to it, except a payment record we are required to keep.
Children
WinkLingo is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
Changes
When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
