What's really going on

It's an odd errand for a man with cancer: he wants a stranger to tell him what his chart says. The astrologer runs through the sign talk — Capricorn ascendant, Virgo moon — and lands on the sixth house, health, where the sun is weak. "This is, it looks a little bit serious," he says, then goes further: "That may create short life." Andy's reaction is almost a laugh — "He thinks I'll be okay. Oh, god." What he takes away isn't the prediction itself but the permission to hope. The astrologer ends on "In my opinion, I think you will overcome" and, when Andy asks about chemo, tells him to do a little of it. The scene captures the search for an answer no doctor can give: not certainty, just someone willing to say the odds are survivable.
