想說一件事做一次就夠了、何必重複時用；勸人別過量時很好用。

Eight cars 重音在前，would've 縮成 woulda。
One cup of that coffee would've done it. 那咖啡一杯就夠勁了。
“What do you suppose would have happened if I hadn't come along?”
你想想，要是我沒路過，會發生什麼？
不直接說後果，用反問把後怕塞給對方，比罵人更重。

想讓對方自己意識到嚴重後果、又不直接下判斷時用；正式場合也能用。

中性
suppose 與 would have 連讀，if I hadn't 吞音。

“You'd think a chauffeur's daughter would know better.”
一個司機的女兒，照理說該懂點事。
一句把身份和失望都擺上桌，客氣的句式裡藏著最重的訓斥。
You'd think someone would know better.
對熟人說「你本該更懂事」時用，帶失望；對不熟的人說會得罪人。
You'd think she would know better by now. ／ You would think a pro wouldn't make that mistake.

意思接近，都是「暈過去」。pass out 更口語、更隨便，日常聊天用得多；faint 稍微書面一點，醫生或小說裡常見。
這是句反話，也是狠話：意思是如果沒人發現，她就已經死了，當然再也不會吵到任何人。用平靜語氣說最嚇人。
