庫珀帶著女兒誤入一座藏在山裡的秘密設施，布蘭德教授一句 Nobody stumbles in here（沒人能誤打誤撞進來），逼他先交出保證。而這裡其實是 the best-kept secret in the world（全世界守得最嚴的秘密）——秘密的航天機構。想學怎麼把「這裡是哪兒」說得又神秘又有分量，這幾句好用。

庫珀帶著女兒墨菲誤入一座藏在山谷裡的秘密設施，一個教授當面質問他是怎麼找來的，一句 Nobody stumbles in here（沒人能誤打誤撞進來）點明這裡根本不該被外人發現。庫珀不肯先交底，反過來要保證能安全離開；對方這才亮明身份——這裡是秘密重開的美國國家航空航天局。教授又講起枯萎病正讓地球的莊稼一茬茬死掉，說他們不是要拯救世界，而是 We're meant to leave it（註定要離開它）。想學逼問、談條件、講地球危機，這些表達都很實用。
A1–C2 是歐標等級。點一個等級後，比它高的卡片會變淡，播放到那裡不會自動暫停。

沒人會誤打誤撞進來，也沒人能誤打誤撞出去。
兩句話只用同一個動詞換了個方向，就把「進來就別想走」說得又穩又冷。重複裡帶著警告，比任何威脅都清楚。

強調某地進出都受嚴格控制時用，語氣冷靜而強硬。
No one wanders in, and no one wanders out. ／ People do not find this place by accident.

Nobody stumbles 重讀，out 放慢收尾。
Nobody walks in late. Nobody leaves early. 沒人能遲到，也沒人能早退。
“The last people to starve will be the first to suffocate.”
最後才餓死的人，會是最先窒息的人。
把餓死和窒息兩個結局套成一個交叉結構，前句的「最後」正對後句的「最先」。它用形式上的對稱，說出一個無法逃避的倒計時。
The last to ... will be the first to ...
指出一種結局無法避免、只是換種形式時用，語氣沉重。
Those who last longest will fall soonest. ／ Survival here only changes the way it ends.
正式
last people to starve 連讀重讀，first to suffocate 放慢收尾。
The last to speak up will be the first to be ignored. 最後才開口的人，會是最先被忽視的人。
“We'll find a way, professor. We always have.”
我們會找到辦法的，教授。我們一直都能找到。
用一句重複的補充把希望說成習慣，而不是口號。We always have 把信心落到歷史上，讓樂觀有了憑據，也讓教授那句絕望更顯沉重。

在困境中給對方信心時用，語氣堅定而平靜。
We will figure it out; we always do. ／ Somehow we always manage.
中性
find a way 連讀，always have 重讀收尾。
We'll figure it out, boss. We always do. 我們會想到辦法的，老闆。我們一向都行。
“I hesitate to term it supernatural, but it definitely wasn't scientific.”
我不太願意把它稱為超自然現象，但它絕對沒法用科學解釋。
用「我猶豫要不要這麼說」來給一個驚人的說法留臺階，再立刻用 but 把話咬死。這種先軟化再斷言的句式，特別適合描述無法歸類的怪事。
I hesitate to ... , but it definitely ...
要說出一個不太好定性的判斷時用，先謙讓再落錘，適合討論和分析；對上級下結論時別顯得含糊。
I'd rather not call it supernatural, but it wasn't science either. ／ I'm reluctant to name it, yet it was no ordinary event.

hesitate to 連讀，supernatural 與 scientific 兩處重音對照。
I hesitate to call it a sign, but it definitely wasn't a coincidence. 我不太敢說這是個徵兆，但它絕對不是巧合。
下一章 · 03the ghost of your children's future孩子未來的幽靈這場戲：臨走前與女兒道別意思是「全世界守得最嚴的秘密」。戲裡說 You're sitting in the best-kept secret in the world，就是「你正坐在全世界保密得最嚴的地方」，用來形容一個幾乎沒人知道的地方或事。
字面是「把食物擺上桌」，實際指「掙錢養活一家人」。戲裡說 you're struggling to put food on the table，就是「你們正為一家人的生計發愁」，是很常用的家常說法。
find a way。戲裡一句 We'll find a way 就是「我們會找到辦法」，後面還接 We always have，強調一直都能挺過去，安慰人時很好用。
stumble upon，也可以說 stumble on。戲裡說 We sort of stumbled upon it，就是「我們算是誤打誤撞撞見的」，比 find 更強調不經意。
這是警告，意思是「沒人會誤打誤撞進來，也沒人能誤打誤撞出去」。它表面說沒人迷路闖進來，其實是在說這裡進得來就出不去，氣氛一下就緊了。
