餐厅里，格兰特讲起自己十七年前许的愿：如今肚子里像有个黑洞，一天得吃六七顿，只能靠别人买单。被尼尔追问到底是什么人，他先甩一句 don't take it personal kid（别往心里去，小子），又认真宣称 I'm a Joker in life's deck（我是人生这副牌里的万能牌），把整件事说成一场游戏。
「其实」开头说 the fact is

尼尔和格兰特在餐厅里吃饭，格兰特讲起自己：他从小就爱吃，十七年前许愿能一直吃，如今肚子里像有个黑洞，一天六七顿，所以到处跑，靠别人买单。随后尼尔被当成赛马的托，一位自称警察的人要他退钱；格兰特还大方承认见过那人。尼尔忍不住问他到底是什么人，格兰特说自己不过是爱搅乱别人脑子的 I'm a Joker in life's deck（人生这副牌里的万能牌），能感应这条路上交汇的过去和未来。他还反问 How would you know, what it's like（你怎么会知道那是什么感觉），然后夸 Messing with people's heads（搅乱别人的脑子）特别好玩。
A1–C2 是欧标等级。点一个等级后，比它高的卡片会变淡，播放到那里不会自动暂停。

说 highly recommend，语气比 recommend 强得多。戏里格兰特说 I highly recommend it，就是强烈推荐别人也试试。
用来问或说「是什么样的感觉、是什么样子」，后面常接 to do 或从句：what it's like to lose someone 就是「失去一个人是什么感觉」。
表示「其实、事实是」，常用来把话拉回重点或纠正前面的话。戏里格兰特说 the fact is, I've always loved eating，就是「其实我一向最爱吃」。
frustrated 更偏「郁闷、使不上劲」，不一定是发火；frustrated by 后接让人郁闷的原因，比如被自己的胃容量限制。
