二月的蒙塔克海滩冷得要命，乔尔翘班坐火车来这儿，对着录音日记念叨：今天是贺卡公司编出来的节日。他自嘲 I guess I just woke up in a funk（一早醒来就提不起劲），连跟陌生女人对上眼神都难，只好盘算要不要跟前任 get back together（复合）。想用英文记日记、倒苦水，照抄就行。

ditch work。ditch 本来指「甩掉、丢掉」，乔尔开口第一句就是 I ditched work today.，意思是「我今天翘班了」，口语里很常用。
不算骂别人，多指自己「觉得自己糟透了」。台词里说贺卡公司编节日 to make people feel like crap，就是让别人觉得自己糟透了，语气很直白，正式场合少用。
get back together。乔尔在日记里想 Maybe I should get back together with Naomi，就是「也许我该和娜奥米复合」，分开的两个人重新在一起就用这个说法。
