彗星都快撞上来了，台下的观众却在喊 Just look up（抬头看）和 Don't look up（别抬头），两派人各喊各的。脱口秀嘉宾干脆说，这个国家该停止 virtue signaling（道德表演），好好相处就行。想看懂英文新闻里政党互相贴标签，这场戏全是现成说法。

下一章 · 24nature calls去方便一下这场戏：家宴中彗星拦截失败字面是「满是屎」，实际就是骂人「胡说八道、一派胡言」。台词里说 If anyone tells you any different, they're full of shit，意思是谁跟你说不是这样，他就是在放屁。语气很冲，别在正式场合用。
look down one's nose at someone。画面感很强：鼻子翘得高高的，从上往下看人。台词里是 They are looking down their noses at you，指他们打心底看不起你们。
它指为了显得自己高尚而公开表态，未必真做了什么，所以常被用来讽刺「道德表演、作秀表态」。脱口秀里说 stop arguing and virtue signaling，就是嫌大家光忙着站队表演。
Just look up。集会、游行里常把短句当口号喊。编剧用 Just look up 和 Don't look up 两个相反的口号，把同一件事说成两种立场。
不是。它指不用动脑、图个轻松的电影，就像边吃爆米花边看。台词里说 It's a popcorn movie，是自嘲这部片子就是拍来让人放松的，没有贬义但也不夸它深刻。
put one foot in front of the other。字面是「把一只脚放在另一只脚前面」，形容再难也先迈出下一步。后面接 step by step、day by day，就是一天天熬过去的意思。
