把律师的沉默解释成一种克制，替一个不在场的人说出体面。

替别人的沉默找更善意的解释时用；正式讨论里很有分量。

didn't bring it up 连读，bullying and badgering 稍作停顿。
Maybe she said nothing because it would have meant betraying a friend. 也许她什么都没说，是因为那等于出卖朋友。

用「从空气里拽故事」这个画面，把凭空捏造说得又轻又狠。

out of 弱读连读，thin air 两个词都重读。

两个具体动作把走路速度变成可验证的事实，空谈一下有了尺子。

用细节支撑判断时能用；对抽象争论别只讲感觉，摆出画面更有力。
He moves very slowly and needs help. ／ They had to support him just to stand.
中性
only very 连读，had to 弱读成 hafta，witness chair 重读。
She can read only very slowly without her glasses. 她不戴眼镜只能读得非常慢。
As soon as the body hit the floor, he said he heard footsteps upstairs... running toward the front door... heard the upstairs door open, the footsteps start down the stairs. He said he got to his own front door as fast as he could...

说 bring something up，或 bring it up。法庭上问律师当初为什么没 bring it up，就是「为什么没把这一点提出来」。日常也常用。
指「讨某人喜欢、让人接受」，多用否定，doesn't sit well with someone 就是「让人不舒服、不讨好」。台词说这在陪审团面前不讨好。
口语里就是「别闹了、住手」，用来叫停吵闹或胡闹。有人看不下去重演，说 Come on, knock it off，就是「行了，别闹了」。
