陪审室里，十二个陌生人刚聊完棒球，就被喊去投第一次票：认为有罪的举手，结果十一比一，只有一个人没举。It's not easy to raise my hand and send a boy off to die（举手把一个孩子送去死可没那么容易），还说 We're talking about somebody's life here（咱们谈的是一条人命）。想表达「人命关天、不能草率」，这两句最有力。

下一章 · 03burden of proof举证责任这场戏：陪审团围桌轮流发言意思是「就这么一下子、说时迟那时快」，形容事情发生得又快又突然。台词里形容儿子杀父亲只用一下，就用了 just like that。
可以说 Supposing we're wrong. supposing 引导一个假设，等于 what if。投出人命关天的票之前，用这句话提醒大家别草率。
字面是「把某人踢来踢去」，实际指长期欺负、使唤、亏待某人。台词说这个孩子一辈子被人 kicked around，就是「受尽欺负」。
意思是预备性的投票，正式开始前先试探各方立场。陪审团按惯例先投一轮 preliminary vote，好知道每个人怎么想。
说 the rest of us。有人的话里是 you sat in court with the rest of us，强调「你和我们大家一样都在场」，用来质问对方。
