下一章 · 06cutting a rug盡情跳舞這場戲：陽臺上被青蛙求吻字面是「在另一邊有朋友」，臺詞裡是術士的招牌話，暗指自己在另一個世界、在「那邊」有人撐腰，不好惹。日常借來說「背後有人」，語氣帶點神秘和威脅。
口語裡指「結婚、成家」，比 marry 更隨便俏皮。臺詞裡說 y'all got to get hitched，就是「你們得成家了」，後面接上但書，說婚姻反而把人困住。
parlor trick，字面是「客廳裡的把戲」，指逗人開心的花招、障眼法。臺詞裡術士把整套巫術叫作小把戲，表面謙虛，其實是在顯擺本事。
意思是「讓你們放下心、安心」，常用來安撫緊張的人。臺詞裡術士請人坐下、放鬆，才方便「隨心所欲」地發揮，所以這句聽著客氣，其實是在鋪路。
結尾一句 you got what you wanted, but you lost what you had，點出世上的交易都要付賬：得到想要的，可能就丟了原本擁有的。這也是全片那條「別忘本」的線。
