be close with someone。close 在这里是「感情亲密」的意思，be close with my dad 就是「跟我爸很亲」，常用来讲家人关系。
catch you up。指之后再把你落下的信息补给你、跟你细说近况。片里沃尔特说 I'll catch you up when I see you，就是「见面再跟你细说」。
在职场语境里，let someone go 常是「裁员、解雇」的委婉说法。片里说 HR 已经开始 letting some of the staff go，就是有人被辞退了。
get kicked out。kick out 是「赶走、轰出去」，get kicked out 就是「被赶出去」，语气口语，常指被场所或团体赶走。
