正式

presence 重讀，ornamental 放慢，尾音略降。

Think of me as purely decorative. 就當我是純擺設好了。

I'll just be here for show. 我就露個面，擺擺樣子。

五個詞就把兩種努力分開：看起來相同，分量完全不同。它不爭論細節，只把標準擺出來，讓比較自己說話。

指出兩件看似相同的事其實有本質差別時用，語氣平靜但不留情面。

口語

just not 連讀，the same 放慢收尾。

用三層轉述（推文、文章、你）解釋自己為何認識一個名人，既好笑又精準；資訊社會的名人認證就長這樣。

半開玩笑地說明自己是怎麼知道對方時用，語氣輕鬆；正式介紹場合別這麼繞，會顯得不嚴肅。

I saw a post about a piece on you. ／ I know you from a headline.

口語

a tweet about a 連讀，New Yorker article 重讀，about you 收尾。

I read a post about a documentary about you. 我刷到過一條推，說有一部關於你的紀錄片。

一句反問當面拆穿引導式提問，把被動問話變成旗鼓相當的交鋒；稱呼放句尾，禮貌裡帶著警告。

Are you baiting me, ...?

識破對方在套話、想當場點破時用，語氣冷靜帶鋒利；對長輩或上級用會顯得對抗。

Are you trying to trap me? ／ You're fishing for something, aren't you?

中性

Are you baiting me 連讀上揚，Detective 放慢下壓。
