律師當眾讀完哈蘭的遺囑，宣佈房子、公司和全部資產都留給護士瑪爾塔。滿屋子人從愣住到炸開：有人質問她 Were you in on this（你是不是早參與其中），有人喊 Now hold your horses（先別急）想壓住場面，可沒人聽得進去。想學勸架、質問、爭產場面的說法，這幾句很夠用。

律師當眾宣讀哈蘭的遺囑。前面還客客氣氣，讀到 I leave in their entirety to Marta Cabrera（全部留給瑪爾塔）時，滿屋子人全愣住了：房子、投資、出版社的獨家所有權，一樣都沒留給家人。有人質問 Were you in on this（你是不是早參與其中），有人勸 everybody cool their jets（大家都冷靜下來），可琳達直接開罵，把律師、警察一個個趕出門。想學宣讀、質問、勸架、翻臉，這些說法就在對話裡。
A1–C2 是歐標等級。點一個等級後，比它高的卡片會變淡，播放到那裡不會自動暫停。

「請體面地接受，不要記恨，但請接受它，這對大家都好。爸爸。」
把剝奪寫成體面：不解釋、不道歉，只要求接受。它用溫柔的語氣執行最狠的決定，讓人無從反駁，也把遺囑的冷意推到頂點。
Accept it with grace and without bitterness, but do accept it.
宣佈一個不受歡迎卻已定下的決定時用，語氣剋制，適合正式書面或莊重場合。

下一章 · 11lay low避風頭這場戲：餐館裡談交易意思是「參與其中、是知情的一分子」。臺詞裡 Were you in on this from the beginning? 就是質問對方「你是不是從一開始就串通好了」，常指參與某個計劃或秘密。
可以說 hold your horses。臺詞裡 Now hold your horses. 就是「先別急」，用來勸人先冷靜、別衝動，比 wait 更有畫面、更口語。
意思是「冷靜下來、別衝動」。臺詞裡說 everybody just needs to cool their jets，就是「大家都該先冷靜一下」，常用來勸正在發火爭執的人。
意思是「吧啦吧啦、諸如此類」，用來跳過一段懶得唸的細節。臺詞裡讀到法律套話時用 and yada-yada-yada 帶過，等於說「後面那些套話就省略了」。
常說 That can't be 或 It's not possible。臺詞裡家人聽到遺囑後接連說 That can't be、It's not possible，就是「這不可能」，用來表達完全無法接受。
