下一章 · 20the other way around正好相反这场戏：翻病历吵要不要开刀意思是「供你们取乐的东西」，object 在这里指「玩物、工具」。凯瑟琳用它控诉塞巴斯蒂安和他母亲把人只当成享乐的工具。
used us as bait。bait 是「鱼饵、诱饵」，used us as bait 就是「把我们当诱饵使」，形容被当工具利用。
willing to pay。be willing to 是「愿意」，willing to pay 就是「肯出钱、肯付出代价」。凯瑟琳用它逼问维奥莱特肯为封口花多少。
意思是「以……为食、靠……活着」。台词说 You fed on life，就是「你靠吸食生命活着」，把人写成被吸食的对象。
这是极重的指控：维奥莱特想把凯瑟琳脑中那段真相，像病灶一样切掉。凯瑟琳用它反讽——所谓治疗，其实是想切除真相。
