可以说 tear it out of someone。希尔迪说花了四百五十块才 tear it out of Cooley，意思是从库利嘴里一点点把消息硬撬出来。
是「大规模搜捕」，指动用大量人手追捕逃犯。新闻里说 Highlights on the sheriff's manhunt，就是讲警长搜捕厄尔行动的精彩片段。
不是毒品，是老报业行话，指「消息、内情」。记者问 Any dope on how he escaped?，就是打听有没有他逃跑的内幕。
manhunt 日常也能用，泛指大张旗鼓地找人或找东西；dope 这个「内情」的用法比较老旧，多出现在老电影、老小说里，平时别乱用。
