拳击里说 on the ropes，本指被打到围绳边，引申为被逼到绝境、快撑不住。台词里把爱讲成拳手，被恨逼到 on the ropes，后来才反打回来。
原意是「停下印刷机」，报馆用来喊「有重大新闻」。日常说就是「先别急、先别下结论」。台词里讲到最后关头，用这句把话头一收，再翻盘。
