常用 break the ice，也可以说 start the ball rolling，意思是先起个头、把场子带动起来。聚会冷场、谁也不说话时最好用。
老派的惊讶感叹，相当于「老天爷啊」，带点上了年纪、端着架子的味道。戏里有人用它抱怨自己差点说漏了不该说的身份。
它是医学上的说法，指话多、语速快、停不下来，未必是病。戏里有人半开玩笑地拿它点评另一位太太话太多，其实也在亮身份、摆专业。
字面是「熟能生巧」，戏里却是双关：后面那句「大多数男人都欠练」，把话说得又暧昧又冒犯，是这类喜剧爱用的调情式玩笑。
