The story so far
Everything you need before watchingA wrecked robot still recites the factory script: no task is allowed to fail. Roz cuts in. Her task has become impossible, and processing that used to live in her head now comes from the heart, because a child is relying on her. The wrecked unit calls her defective and tells her to return to the factory. Roz has been overriding her code for months. It was the only way. Then she says it plainly: I have a kid.
