字面是「石膏圣像」，指被人供起来、装得毫无缺点的「假圣人」。说 someone is a plaster saint，就是讽刺他装圣洁。
意思是「就好像、仿佛」，后面常接虚拟语气。比如 I'm being treated as though I were insane（他们把我当疯子一样对待）。
keep 加过去分词表示「一直保持某种状态」，kept locked 就是「一直锁着」。My door's kept locked 等于「我的房门一直锁着」。
in time。表示「到时候、迟早」，比如 You will in time（到时候会让你见的）。注意它和 on time（准时）不是一回事。
