生死关头，橙先生反咬金先生，说他要 make off with（带着钻石溜走）。乔根本不信，说这是 barking up the wrong tree（找错人了），并指出橙先生才是在替警方做事的人。全场举枪，一句 Joe, if you kill that man, you die next（你要是杀了他，下一个死的就是你）让全场僵住。想学对峙、翻供、下最后通牒的英语，这段最紧张。

仓库里，橙先生反咬金先生，说他在店里发疯、还想 make off with（带着）钻石跑路。乔听得直摇头，说这是 barking up the wrong tree（找错人了）：他认识的维克不会干这种事，还夸他为了乔的父亲蹲了四年牢、从不松口。可橙先生赌咒发誓，说金先生当时还要 kill the cop and me（把警察和他都杀了）。乔随即爆出更狠的一句：That lump of shit's workin' with the LAPD（那坨狗屎在给洛杉矶警察局做事），害死了棕先生和蓝先生。两边越吵越凶，最后全场举枪。乔要动手，橙先生放话 Joe, if you kill that man, you die next（你要是杀了他，下一个死的就是你）。想学对峙、指控、绝地反击的英语，这段是全片高潮。

supposed to be 连读成 sposta-be，professionals 重音在第二音节。

字面是「对着错误的树叫」，来自猎狗追猎物上错树，引申为「找错人、怪错对象、搞错方向」。台词里乔用它反驳对维克的指控，意思是你怀疑错人了。
make off 是「逃走、溜走」，加上 with 就是「带着某物逃走，卷走」。台词里说 make off with the diamonds，就是「带着钻石跑路」，常指作案后把赃物带走。
set up 在这里是「设局、做套」，be set up 就是「被人设局陷害、出卖」。台词里说 This man set us up，就是「这个人设局把我们卖了」，是犯罪片里的高频说法。
lost your mind。mind 是「头脑、心智」，lose your mind 就是「失去理智、疯了」，口语里常说 Have you lost your mind，就是「你是不是脑子进水了」。
rip off 本义是「扯掉」，俚语里指「坑钱、宰客、骗走」。台词里说 to rip us off，就是「要坑我们一把、把我们骗个精光」，也可以名词化成 a rip-off（坑人的东西）。
be supposed to be。be supposed to 是「按理应该、本该」，加上 be 就是「按理说该是某种样子」。台词里说 We're supposed to be professionals，就是「我们按理该是专业人士」。
