spread betting。本来指把赌注铺开押多个结果，片里那位长辈借它给巴迪的考试小聪明起名，听起来像正经策略，其实是钻空子。
等于 instead of，但更书面。老师那句 in lieu of your intensified efforts 就是「看在你格外用功的份上，这次……」，常见于通知、公告。
can't be bothered。片里父母吵架时用它互相埋怨：你要懒得管，就别怪那帮小子惹事。日常抱怨没心气做某事，这句最省力。
look for trouble。西片里一句 You looking for trouble 就是「你找事儿吗」，语气半开玩笑也半挑衅，看场合。
