用法庭式的 put it to you 点名指控，冷静里带着压迫感。

当面向某人挑明指控或事实时用；对同事太重，朋友间说会显得开庭。

I say it plainly: it was you. ／ Let me put it to you straight, you did it.

put it to you 连读，murdered 重读。

I put it to you that the report was changed on purpose. 我当面说白：那份报告是有人故意改的。

先认下厌恶，再冷冷撇清，逻辑干净得让人无从反驳。

submit 稍停，jealous rage 放慢。

I submit that the deadline was never realistic. 我认为那个截止日期本来就不现实。

用 may as well 表现「反正也瞒不住了，不如说了」的松口瞬间，把一场审讯推向自白。这个句式适合所有「退一步、干脆摊牌」的场合。

觉得隐瞒没意义、决定坦白时用，语气听天由命；急着坦白重大过错时会显得太轻率，注意场合。
